Why we’re killing the AVS Flash report

There are loads of free GEO audits out there. Most are half-arsed. Ours was too. So we’re replacing it with something that actually works for both sides.

We’re killing the free AVS Flash report. Replacing it with something that asks more of both sides.

There are loads of free GEO audits floating around at the moment. Agencies have figured out it’s a decent lead magnet. So they punt out 25-prompt samples, slap a chart on a PDF, and call it measurement.

It isn’t. It’s a sample. Worse than that — it gives the buyer a misleading impression of what proper measurement looks like, and a misleading impression of what the agency offering it is actually capable of.

Our Flash was no different. Same trap.

What was wrong with it

Two things, ultimately.

One. The Flash wasn’t showing what we actually do. Twenty-five prompts in a single LLM, no tailored prompt flow, no human run-through. Ironically, it was the kind of half-arsed work we tell paying clients to avoid. We were doing the thing we’re trying to position against.

Two. The form-fill-and-vanish problem. We had a few prospects drop a form in, take the Flash report, and never call back. Fair enough; we put it out there for free. But it wasn’t doing K&C any good and it wasn’t doing them any good either — because what they took away wasn’t a real picture of how AI was talking about them.

What we’re doing instead

The new offer is the AVS Exec Brief.

It’s a real one-day measurement. Same methodology as the full AVS Annual. We design a tailored prompt set for your business, run it across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity, score the responses by hand, and walk you through what we found.

It’s the closest thing to the real AVS Report you’ll get without commissioning one.

Free, but not no-strings

No financial commitment. But the time commitment is real.

We need a form filled out. We need a 30-minute discovery call upfront so we can build the prompt flow properly — that’s the difference between a real measurement and a generic sample. And we need a 30-minute run-through call when we deliver the brief, so you actually understand what AI is saying about you and what you’d do about it.

An hour of your time, plus a form. That’s it. No invoice. No retainer. No upsell pressure.

Why we’re asking for the time

Because the time is what makes the brief actually useful.

Without the discovery call, the prompt flow is generic. Without the run-through, the report sits in a folder. Both of those failure modes are common in the free-GEO-audit world. We’re trying not to repeat them.

It also filters for genuine interest. We don’t want clients who drop a form and disappear. We want clients who are curious enough to give us an hour. That’s a small ask, but it’s enough to know whether there’s a real conversation to be had.

That’s more work for us per prospect than the Flash was. We’re choosing to do that work because the alternative wasn’t doing K&C or our prospects justice.

If that sounds like the way you’d want to engage

Fill the form. Book the call. We’ll take it from there.

If it doesn’t — that’s fair too. The platforms (Authoritas, Profound, Peec AI, Otterly.AI) are great at self-serve dashboards if that’s what you want. The traditional PR agencies will happily build you a creative campaign with GEO bolted on. We’ve written about why K&C is in neither of those lanes.

If you do want to see what real AI visibility measurement looks like — the kind we run on every paying client — that’s the Exec Brief. Here’s the page.
